TODAY SHOW: Stretches to do before getting out of bed

Waking up in the morning and going straight into your morning routine can be jarring. That’s why it’s important to stretch before getting out of bed! Stretching will gradually wake you up, making it easier to start your day.

I recommend knees to chest, spinal twist, and side lean all while in bed! Next time your alarm goes off and you can’t seem to get yourself out of bed, try these exercises.

COVID-19 has affected almost every aspect of our lives, including fitness. With gyms closed and cold weather, most of my clients have taken matters into their own hands, investing in equipment and participating in virtual workout sessions.

Whether it be resistance bands, dumbbells, or bigger equipment like the Peloton, the increase in workout equipment sales has definitely been a result of COVID-19. More people have been working out outside, too, if it’s not too cold. Whatever the solution may be, we’ve had to adjust to meet our fitness goals.

Tech neck has become increasingly common since the start of the pandemic. Staring and slouching over our computer screens is not good for our necks and backs, especially since neck pain is already common without the overuse of technology.

However, there are a bunch of different stretches you can do every day to help combat neck pain. I’ve prepared a list of stretches you can do during the day without taking too much time away from your work. It’s important to prioritize our health and wellness, so don’t forget to listen to your body!

After months of virtual at home workouts, you may become slightly bored of the same routine. Doing the same exact exercises day after day can get tiring, causing a lack of motivation. But there are plenty of ways to spice things up!

I have lots of workout options for you to try if you’re getting bored of your routine. I’ve matched common workouts with newer ones that work the same muscle groups. For example, if you’re into cardio and love running but are getting bored of it, I recommend trying tabata.

EAT THIS NOT THAT: Smoothies and Chickpeas

With so many different diet plans and advice, it’s sometimes hard to decide what foods are best for you. Chickpeas are a great snack to add to your diet, and might even help lower your appetite throughout the day. They also help with digestion due high fiber and protein!

Another great way to change up your diet for the better is to add a smoothie! There are plenty of different ingredients that can be easily added to smoothies to promote weight loss. I personally recommend adding basil to your smoothie. It’s quick, easy, and reduces bloating.
