The scissor kick is a move that can work out your abs, glutes, legs and hips! It is very effective in helping you work out many different parts of your body, but is also often done incorrectly. When people are doing this move, they often arch their back, which will hurt and strain your back. I give tips on how to avoid these common mistakes and should always be kept in mind!

I offer the steps to perform a scissor kick correctly and how to do a modified scissor kick before transitioning into the actual scissor kick. I also offer exercises that will help you perform scissor kicks better and these will help strengthen your muscles beforehand. The V-sit is a great move to add to your daily workout and exercise routines because it is another ab workout that helps you improve your core strength. It is also a great move that can help you improve your balance while still working out your core muscles!

There are many common mistakes people make when they perform the V-sit. I point out many of those mistakes in order to have it be most effective in your workout! I also offer how to do a modified V-sit and the steps to perform a V-sit correctly. There are also some exercises you can do that will help you progress in areas such as a stronger core and better balance.

Jump roping is great for losing weight and building more core muscle strength. It is also great for working out your abs! If you are looking for a new and fun outdoor workout, jump roping is definitely worth a try!

Jump ropes are effective in helping work out different muscles in the body. There are many things you can do with a jump rope. The forward jump, also the most common jump rope move, is such a great cardio workout! If you are looking for more challenging jump rope moves, definitely give the double under and the jump rope jacks a try!

Sit-ups are commonly seen in many people’s workout and exercise routines on a daily basis. There are many benefits of sit-ups such as being beneficial for working out the core muscles and improving your abdominal strength. However, many people do sit-ups incorrectly, which can cause many injuries and strain your neck.

When doing sit-ups in your workouts, I offer many tips to keep in mind so you can avoid straining your neck and hurting yourself. Make sure you are going at a controlled pace because sit-ups are not easy to do correctly! I also offer a way to do a modified sit-up before doing the actual sit-up and four exercises that will help you perform a sit-up.

TODAY SHOW: Buti yoga – I tried this combination of yoga, belly dancing and HIIT

Traditional yoga is supposed to be relaxing and calming, but buti yoga is so different! Buti yoga is a combination of traditional yoga and a high-intensity cardio workout that includes tribal dancing. Buti yoga is effective in helping tone muscles, burn lots of calories, and help work muscles that we often do not work out in traditional workouts! 

I offer more information about what the buti yoga workout entails, including the classes I tried. I also offer more about what I enjoyed about buti yoga and what I did not like so much. Buti yoga was overall very exciting because I got to try things I have never done before and I would totally recommend it to those who are looking for a new high-intensity workout!

It is important to do core exercises during your workouts because not only does it tone your stomach, but it also is beneficial for stabilization and support. The core muscles are located in the center of your body, so working on the core muscles is essential for good posture and also building up more strength. This 30-day core exercise routine will help you tone and strengthen your body for the summer!

The workout routine is a good balance between resting and working out your core muscles. I offer core basic exercises such as the pelvic tilt, bridge, planks, etc. I also recommend killer core exercises such as plank ups, side planks, and squats in this 30-day routine. These exercises are very effective in helping build up your core muscles in the center of your body!

Natural Awakenings: The Fit Gardener – Backyard Workouts Good for Mind and Body

Especially in the spring and summer months, many people are spending more time in their beautiful gardens growing delicious fruits and vegetables and even different plants and flowers! Gardening is beneficial for your health because it is seen as a workout, working out different parts of the body, for a couple of minutes to even hours at a time.

There are many ways you can incorporate workouts into your gardening sessions. Before you start gardening and after you finish, you can do some simple stretches. You could also incorporate some cardio by sweeping or raking at a faster pace. Yoga in the garden is another great way to get a workout in your garden!

If you are looking for a move to add to your core workout, try out the ab exercise called the bicycle crunch! Although the bicycle crunch is extremely popular in many workout routines, many people do it incorrectly and it may hurt your back and hips if done incorrectly. Bicycle crunches are very beneficial for the body, when done correctly, and it can help you slim your waist and tone your core muscles.

I point out the common mistakes people make when doing these bicycle crunches. I also offer how to do a modified bicycle crunch to help prepare you to perform a correct bicycle crunch. If you need more practice before doing the bicycle crunches, I also recommended four exercises that will help you do it correctly!
