Health and Fitness Expert and Private Women’s Weight Loss Coach Stephanie Mansour has your back this holiday season with a few hacks to keep your weight loss goals on track! Enjoy the holidays while not going overboard with these great maintenance tips.
Get through New Years feeling confident with these helpful tricks that I’ve come up with from my years of experience working as a private weight loss coach.
Get Your Party On!
This time of year is all about celebrating, so stay in party mode with your goals as well.
Break down your main goal into several mini goals, and set a little celebration for yourself every time you complete one of your mini goals. Repeat the same celebration every time you reach a goal!
Ex: If my mini goal is to only enjoy one cocktail at my work holiday party, I start the day with that intention in mind. I go to the party, savor that single cocktail and then celebrate my success by putting on a favorite song and dancing it out!
Say No with Confidence!
It can be so difficult to turn your friends down for a rowdy night out, or another slice of your mom’s homemade dessert.
Not everyone will understand your weight loss journey, and they may urge you to fill up your plate more or try to convince you that “one bite won’t kill you”, etc.
It’s up to you to stay strong and keep your focus set, but I believe in you! I always incorporate some kind of confidence training in my weight loss programs for women because it is truly important!
- Figure out phrases you’re comfortable using and rehearse them.
Ex: “I have a sensitive stomach.” Or “I’m trying to cut back on ___, so I’m good, thank you!”
- Worried about people trying to push you to refill that empty wine glass? Excuse yourself, go into the bathroom and fill up your glass with water. They can’t refill your glass if it isn’t even empty!
- Refill your dessert plate with desserts you don’t like. If you don’t like it, you won’t overeat it– foolproof!
Feed Your Goals with that Holiday Energy
Take advantage of all the happiness around the holidays to create new health goals for the next year. Coming from a mindset of abundance is a sure way to set yourself up for success.
- Before you do something fun, set aside just five minutes
- Close your eyes
- Think of one thing that would make your life better
By thinking of ways to improve your life when you’re already in a good mood, you train your brain to see health goals as a positive.
It’s a joy to eat more leafy greens, to move your body, to love yourself, life is good!
See you next year!
