5 Ways to Get a Jump Start on Your NY Resolutions (As Seen on Fox 32)

The New Year is the perfect time to take a moment to analyze what’s going right in your life! Health and Fitness Expert Stephanie Mansour dropped by Fox 32 to share how getting mentally prepared before setting resolutions sets you up for success all year long.

As a Weight Loss Coach, I know that a confidence boost is the first step toward a healthier lifestyle. Whether your goal is weight loss or toned arms, it all starts with a commitment to yourself—so make sure YOU know what YOU really want!

Here are five steps that help you get clear on what you want in 2018.

Step 1: Take Advantage of More Time on Your Hands
During a holiday break from work, we have more space to reflect on ourselves. Take a personal inventory of how you’ve been feeling lately.

Tune into those feelings. Pay attention and listen. What is your inner dialogue and self-talk? Is it “I feel disgusting. None of my clothes fit.”? Well maybe a weight loss resolution is right for you!

Once you know how you feel know, you can determine how you’d rather feel in the future! Use that as your true north when writing resolutions.

Step 2: Assess Your Daily Routine
How do you feel when you pick out clothes in the morning or do your makeup? Does it excite you or does it make you feel worse about yourself?

Consider the areas of life you beat yourself up about and write them down on a piece of paper.

Step 3: What Do You See?
Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror? If there is something you don’t like, then slow down and write it on that piece of paper we talked about above! Get specific.

Many clients in my weight loss programs for women share that they don’t like their “flabby arms, spare tire, muffin top, or double chin.”

Step 4: Re-imagine Whatever You Don’t Like
Use all the things you don’t like as motivation for your New Year’s resolutions! Imagine if everything was different! What would that look like to you? Write down the words that come to mind.

Turn “muffin top” into “tight tummy” for example!  It’s important to name something positive that you can hold in your mind rather than continuing to think only of the negative.

Step 5: Act Like You’ve Already Achieved Your Goal
Write down a new, beautiful, and confident vision for yourself. Write down how you’re going to feel when you look in the mirror and what you’re going to look like even if it’s six months down the road.

Then, act like it’s true NOW. This is going to help you stick to your vision and your resolutions. Ready to silence the negative self-talk and take back control of your life? Try my 30 Day Confidence Workbook!

Weight Loss Programs for Women: How Emotions Prevent Weight Loss

releasing anger to lose weight

One key component of the Step It Up with Steph weight loss programs for women is that we focus on how your emotions and mental state contribute to what you’re eating and whether or not you’re exercising.

How do your everyday thoughts about yourself impact your weight loss success?

Did you know your emotions can keep you from losing weight, even if you use willpower to avoid emotional eating?

Learn more about the relationship between emotions and weight loss–and what to do about it in this video:

My client (who you’ve probably heard about by now if you’ve been in this community for a while!) who lost 83 lbs in just 12 weeks without any diets or gimmicks was mentally in the game. as she followed one of our comprehensive weight loss programs for women.

There were no maybes, woulds, coulds, or doubts when it came to the fact that she was going to hit her weight loss goal and thus lose the most weight out of anyone on the reality TV show that we were on.

Marissa weight loss Before and After

In fact, once she started working with me and using our 30 Days to Love Your Body & Your Life Workbook to even further boost her self-confidence in herself, that’s when we unlocked any mental obstacles or emotional struggles that she may have run in to along the way. We course-corrected before we even hit a jagged part in the road.

If I tell you everyday that the sky is purple, eventually you may start to believe me – even though logically you know it’s not. If you grew up in a household in which you were told that you needed to watch what you eat, or that “hard work is the only way you’ll reach your goals,” these messages are probably still ingrained in your subconscious mind, whether you realize it or not. And that’s where 90% of our decisions get made – in our subconscious.

So let’s take the example of “hard work is the only way you’ll reach your goal.” I used to believe this, too, until I started studying successful people, people who had reached their goals already. And what I realized was that it wasn’t just hard work that got them to where they are today; it was SMART work.

In my work with my private weight loss clients, we are not only fiercely committed to the goal, but we are also smart and methodical in how we get there. My clients are NOT held captive by diets or strict workouts.

They don’t have their head down 24/7 in a bowl of salad. Instead, we balance all of the structure with the emotional and feelings side of weight loss – something I don’t see any other weight loss programs for women doing.

If you’re looking to an integrative approach to weight loss and reaching your goals, then you’re in the right place.

Check out the free preview of what’s in the 30 Day Workbook here, or schedule a complimentary Signature Slimdown Session with me and we’ll talk through your goals.

We’re in this together, ladies!

Is Laser Hair Removal Right For You & What Is Laser Hair Removal

Six Laser Hair Removal Image

As a  weight loss coach, many of the private clients I work with are driven ambitious women. They have big goals, high standards, and want to present their best self to the world. They want to feel good and look good, because they know their personal image matters.

If you work outside of the home, your look is a public representation of your company’s brand. And in any situation — social or professional — you make an impression everywhere you go.

For your own personal brand,  the way you present yourself matters. It affects the way people perceive your competence.

Reaching your career and personal goals requires hard work and dedication, and it also requires looking the part.

I’m not saying you have to look like a supermodel to get ahead. And I’m not suggesting that you should be critical or self-conscious about the way you look.

Confidence is definitely an inside job, but when you take the time to look your best, you’re signaling to yourself and to others that you deserve the best.

There’s no denying that it’s important to be well-groomed, neatly dressed, and show that you respect yourself enough to pay attention to your appearance.

This is why I like to share some of my favorite time-saving personal grooming tips with my weight loss coaching clients, and with you!

In this week’s episode, I spoke with Sharon from Dr. Michael Horn Center for Cosmetic Surgery about the benefits of laser hair removal, who laser hair removal is best for, and who should avoid laser hair removal.

What’s your favorite personal grooming short cut? Tell me in the comments below.

#1 Key to Success + More Harvard Pics!

Last call: 1 more space left in my 3 month Diamond Program! Fill out a client assessment form here ASAP if you’re interested!

As promised, I’m sharing with you more pics from my visit with my littlest sister last weekend:

Can you believe that she’s 8 years younger than me?!

Today I’m talking about what I believe to be the #1 key to success. I shared this story with my sister, Christine, after we had almost magically been escorted into Fenway for the Red Sox baseball game, for free, about 15 rows up from 3rd base, with no tickets. Yes, you read that right:

How did this happen? After arriving well into the 2nd inning, we began scalping tickets. We got a guy to go down from $80 for 2 to $40 for 2, but I was only willing to pay $25 for two. (Cheap, I know, but I have done this before at similar games, and it works.) Amidst looking for tickets, a few people selling hats and shirts outside of the stadium invite us over. We start chatting, and the group tells one of the guys to do us a favor. Before we know it, we are being escorted through a souvenir shop and told to go find a seat.

Wait, what? We had no tickets, and walked into the game completely free. We then found seats 15 rows up from 3rd base and had a great time!

My sister asked, “Stephanie, HOW did we do this? How were you so confident? I was getting nervous that there wouldn’t be tickets!”

I explained to her the #1 key to success: Believing that you already have it. Knowing and feeling that you’ve already got what you want. Not having a plan B. For me, there was no other option – there was no way I wasn’t getting into the game.

Similarly, the next day I had no idea where my sister’s class was. But, I decided to find a way to surprise her outside of it. After asking some random people questions, I went on a hunt. I found her bike, and surprised her in her class.

Another example of this is when we weren’t on the “list” to get into an ultra exclusive “finals club” on campus. I’m not one to get turned away – I knew we’d get in, somehow. Sure enough, here we are:

What does all of this have to do with our everyday health & fitness, or our everyday happiness, or even our lifetime successes?

Our minds and our beliefs are SO powerful – what you think really is what you get. What you see, from your eyes, is what the world is. Your perception is your reality. The problem is not only understanding this, but also recognizing and then changing your thoughts and behaviors to align with what success means to you.

If you have no other option but to succeed, you will succeed. The question is, are you mentally ready? Let me know what you think about this by leaving a comment below.

Mental Exercises to Feel Beach-Ready

There are tons of physical exercises and tips on how to get “beach-ready,” but today we’re talking about how you can do some mental exercises to get beach-ready:

-Whether or not you have the “perfect body” doesn’t matter. It’s what you think about your body that makes a difference. Analyze what you say to yourself on a regular basis. Do you say mean or insulting things to yourself, or do you pump yourself up?

-Notice when you compare how you look to other women. Do you constantly wish you had “her stomach” or were as thin as someone else? Notice how often you tell yourself that you’re “not good enough,” and how it makes you feel. You’ll surely slump and your posture will suffer when you feel this way about yourself, and this does not help you to feel beach-ready!

-Look at yourself in the mirror while you are brushing your teeth and say motivational things. Reprogram yourself to talk positively about your body, saying “I like my stomach” or “My face is pretty.”

-Place a sticky note near your computer with a positive comment about your body. By engaging in positive self-talk, you’ll instantly start feeling better about yourself and more confident in your body – whether you’re in a bikini at the beach or in a suit at work.

Do you want start feeling more confident in your body and in yourself? Check out my workbook below and learn how to get on track to an improved you. Women everywhere are benefiting from it!

Improve Your Body Image in Five Minutes

Feeling like all of your clothes aren’t fitting right, or are you lacking confidence before a big presentation at work? Here are some quick tips to improve your body image in five minutes or less:

-Focus on something you like about yourself – your hair, eyes, hand gestures, etc. Keep repeating to yourself, “I like XYZ…”

-Remember the last time when you felt really confident and happy in your body. Take a few deep breaths and visualize what you saw in the mirror, how you felt about yourself, and what you said to yourself.

-Drop and do 10 push-ups. You’ll instantly feel tighter in your arms, and more confident in your body.

If you’re struggling with how you feel about your body, check out my workbook below. Women everywhere are improving their body image because of it!

Quiz: What Compliments Say About You + New Promo Vid!

In honor of National Compliment Day (yesterday!), we’re talking about how you receive compliments and what they say about you!

1. When someone compliments you, do you say, “Thank You” and not really believe it, do you start making excuses for how the compliment is not true, or do you flat our refuse the compliment?
2. When someone compliments you, do you feel embarrassed?
3. When someone compliments you, does it totally make your day?
4. When someone compliments you, do you wonder why they are saying something nice to you?

Reflect on your answers for a moment.

Now, here’s what your answers may mean:
1. If you don’t really believe the compliment, analyze why. Are you too hard on yourself? If you start making excuses for the compliment or discount it, how would your confidence increase if you actually believed it? Is your confident self not shining through more often because you actually don’t feel confident about this compliment? Finally, if you refuse the compliment – how dare you! You’re taking away someone ability to give you a gift of kind words – why is it up to you whether or not that person is correct? People feel good when they make others feel good, so instead of turning away the gift of the compliment, simply say, “Thank You” and work on why your first reaction is to not want to receive it.

2. If you feel embarrassed, why is that? Are you being complimented on a part of you that was in hiding or you didn’t think was visible? Why don’t you want this part to be visible or complimented?

3. If compliments totally make your day, do you feel like you don’t have enough internal compliments (read: positive self talk!) going on so you need to find your validation from an outside source?

4. If you wonder how on earth someone would say something nice to you, what about yourself are you not valuing? Why is someone else worthy of a compliment, but you are not?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!!

How To Feel Confident At Your Holiday Parties

Tis the season of…body anxiety? If you suffer from poor body image and lack confidence when you’re out with colleagues or friends, check out these tips to feel more comfortable and happy in your own skin:

  • Find an outfit or makeup that accentuates a body part that you DO like instead of trying to find an outfit that covers something up. By focusing on your positive, favorite feature, you’ll be feeling more confident in your own skin.
  • Accept a compliment! Give the compliment giver the gift of you being able to receive it. It feels great making other people feel good, right? So don’t let your own insecurities drag the other person down. Graciously accept compliments, whether or not you believe them!
  • Stand tall and pull your abs in like you’re zipping a tight pair of pants. Proper posture immediately signals to others that you are confident. You are owning your own space and are carrying yourself strongly. Bring your shoulders up to your ears, back, and down, and pull in your low abs.
  • Pump yourself up! Tell yourself 5 things you like about yourself before you walk into a holiday party. Is this hard? Try to do it anyways, and focus on these positive traits or body parts whenever you start engaging in negative self talk.

And, speaking of self talk, if you’re interested in totally revamping how you talk about and view yourself, check out my workbook + videos! It’s 50% off for a limited time:
