Health Hacks To Stay On Track (As Seen On ABC 7 Chicago) 

Tracking your weight loss is a fantastic way to see what weight loss strategies work for you as well as which exercises you enjoy more. 

One simple tip I give my private weight loss clients is to track what they’re eating and doing for weight loss. In the future, this helps them to look back and see what had the most impact on their bodies. I also encourage them to meal prep! When you meal prep, you’re essentially ensuring you’ll stick to your food plan. If you’re planning on going to a party or an event where you may indulge and have a cocktail or some sweets, having your dinner already meal prepped helps to ensure you’ll still be getting all the vitamins and nutrients you need. So instead of skipping out on the healthy food you have already prepared, you’ll be eating this in addition to the food you’re indulging yourself in.

As a fitness trainer, frequently I get asked what I keep in my gym bag. I get this question from a variety of people, but especially those who are just getting into working out at the gym. When you workout at your home you typically have all the essential products you’ll need to freshen up after a workout easily accessible, but if you’re working out at the gym you most likely won’t. The items you have in your gym back don’t just have to help you freshen up after a work out, many are able to help you perform better during the workout. Items such as headphones and fitness trackers are items that can have a direct correlation to your performance.

How To Achieve Sustainable Weight Loss Year Round (As Seen On Fox 32 Chicago) 

The New Year has already kicked off, so it’s time to see if your resolutions are headed in the right direction. Many women have the goal of losing weight this upcoming year, but few of them have the strategic steps to do so. 

If one of your New Years Resolutions was to lose weight this year, it’s important to make sure you have a game plan. Having a game plan helps to ensure that you can visibly see your goals as well as the steps you need to take to reach them. I always help my private weight loss clients determine realistic goals when we start working together. Having realistic goals is essential in order to keep you motivated while also keeping your health in mind! If you’re expecting to lose five pounds a week, you’re likely going to quickly be discouraged. It’s typically healthy and sustainable to lose around 2 pounds a week, so if your goal is five you may not be able to reach it every week.

The Best Way To Set Health Goals (As Seen In NBC News Better) 

Setting goals for your health and fitness can be quite the daunting task. It’s important to make sure you’re being realistic about the goals you’re setting as well as the steps you’re taking to get there! 

Many of my private weight loss clients initially start their weight loss journey going full force with a ton of motivation. After a week or two, this motivation may not be burning quite as bright as it initially was. One of the ways I encourage them to regain their motivation is to assess their goals and the reality of the goals. While it may be easy to say you want to lose 20 pounds over the next year,  you may not be taking actionable steps to do this. If losing the 20 pounds was your goal, you may want to break this down into monthly and weekly goals. When you reach your weekly goals, you’re more motivated to make your monthly goals. This pattern goes on and on!

In today’s world it’s very common to spend hours upon hours hunched over a laptop or even staring at your phone. It’s rather uncommon, however, to do exercises that focus on strengthening your back. 

Having a strong back is essential for daily life. There are a multitude of movements that rely on the strength of your back, but few workouts specialize in strengthening the back. Given the amount of time we spend hunched over looking at technology, it’s essential to make sure we’re taking measures to protect our bodies. Studies have even shown that over 264 million workdays are missed yearly due to back issues. While all of these issues couldn’t have been prevented, many of them likely could have been if the person took measures to strengthen their back on a regular basis.

The cold weather can make finding the motivate to workout difficult. There are a variety of factors that make trying to make yourself go the gym and leave your cozy home difficult… If my private weight loss clients present me with this issue, I always recommend they purchase some basic workout equipment to use in their homes. Equipment like kettle balls and resistance bands make it so you can have your own gym in your living rom which will encourage you to stick to your workouts! Another fantastic way to ensure you’re getting in your workouts is to participate in activities that you enjoy. If you enjoy the activity, you’re more likely to make the time for it. Depending on your location, a gym or local YMCA may offer indoor volleyball or tennis to help you burn calories.

Why You Need To Go ‘Dry’ For A Month (As Seen On HLN)

Spending a month without alcohol may seem like a difficult feat for many. Many women find themselves ordering a glass of wine, cocktail, or beer with dinner. Cutting this habit out, however, can be the key to uncovering many benefits.

Consuming alcohol doesn’t just have negative impacts on your diet, it also has negative impacts on your wallet. Going out and ordering a drink or two can quickly equal the sum of your meal, making the price almost if not double! Besides helping your bank account, stoping the consumption of alcohol for a period of time can also help you to detoxify the body. Your body will quickly start to detox after you stop the consumption of alcohol – so much so that you’ll be able to tell a difference within one week. The calories in alcohol can quickly add up, which is why I always recommend my private weight loss clients to jumpstart their health and fitness journey by giving up alcohol.

There are a variety of exercises that you can do to lose weight. These range from Pilates, to deadlifts, to Tabata style workouts. Each of these exercises are able to help you lose weight, but doing a combination of them can help to truly give you a well rounded and full body workout. One thing I always try to stress to my clients is to try a variety of exercises so that they can determine what type of exercises they enjoy doing. When you find a type of exercise that you enjoy, it can help motivate you to exercise. Even if when you start a certain exercise or workout routine you need to make modifications until you can completely do the workout, it’s a fantastic starting point to introduce you to exercise. Everything You Need To Know About Reformer Pilates (As Seen In NBC News Better) 

Pilates is one of the most increasingly popular exercise methods of the decade. Machines that can be incorporated like the Reformer machine are a fantastic way to help include people of various activity levels into working out. 

Pilates workouts are low impact workouts that help to tone and flatten your mid-section. Many women opt for exercises like these because of the ways that they are able to see results relatively quickly while also giving them increased functional movements. These functional movements are important, because they can help improve your quality of life. Pilates is a fantastic workout for strengthening the back.

Reformer Pilates come into the picture when the Reformer machine is incorporated into a Pilates exercise. These machines are perfect to help include a variety of people in participating in Pilates. These machines help to isolate more muscles than you would be able to isolate while doing traditional Pilates, while also being gentle enough where those recovering from an injury can use them.

How To Lose Weight While You Sleep (As Seen On The Today Show) 

The concept of losing weight while you sleep might seem extremely far-fetched, but science has recently shown that this may be possible. Surprisingly, some of the ways suggested to help lose weight while you sleep you may already be doing…

If you’re like many of my private weight loss clients, you may find yourself crunched for time. Taking the time to choose yourself and set time aside from your busy day to go to the gym or exercise may seem inconvenient, but everyone has to make the time to sleep! While the weight loss doesn’t come from burning calories while you are asleep, sleeping can help encourage the body to not hold on to fat due to the natural circadian rhythms. When you interrupt the natural circadian rhythms, that’s when your body will be more inclined to hold onto fat.
