First and foremost, it’s essential that women realize that many of the bodies they are idolizing in the media are unnatural. The bodies of celebrities may not naturally be in an hourglass figure, instead they may be created by plastic surgeons or even intensive image editing. Placing unrealistic expectations for yourself when it comes to your figure isn’t healthy for you, so it’s important to make sure you’re working towards attainable goals!

Theragun has officially launched again and have rebranded themselves as Therabody! These massagers have now been re-designed to be much more user friendly as well as quiet. This is huge for my private weight loss clients! Instead of them having to use these massagers while everyone in the house is awake they can use them whenever they want and unless you’re in the room with them, you wouldn’t even know.

Joey Thurman, personal trainer and fitness expert, agrees in the value of these machines. They are designed to help your muscles recover quickly, which is very important for those who are active. 

Boleslav Kosharskyy, MD, also agrees and believes in the promising results that have been found in studies showing that these massagers can help in reducing pain.

The Importance Of Packing Your Gym Bag During Quarantine (As Seen In Succesible Life) 

Even though gyms aren’t open, I’m strongly encouraging my private weight loss clients to still pack their gym bags! When you pack your gym bag, you’re forming habits. It also helps your mind to compartmentalize what you’re doing. Even if you’re working out in your living room, having the gym bag with your items in it is a great way to prepare yourself for when life returns to normal.

As a health and wellness coach, I’m always asked what exactly goes inside of my gym bag. While it may not be as interesting as everyone thinks it may be, my gym bag does have a list of core essentials I can’t leave home without! These are my tried and true items that have helped me to get out of a pinch in various situations. 

One of the items I love to pack in my gym bag are healthy snacks! Having snacks on hand is the perfect way to make sure you don’t snack on things you may find lying around the office or your home that may put you off track of your fitness journey. Plus, you can make sure you always have your favorite snack on hand in case you need it!

Using A Broom For A Full-Body At-Home Workout (As Seen On The Today Show) 

While you may feel that using a broom gives you a workout, there are other ways to use a broom to give your body a great workout. I created a workout that turns this common household essential into the ultimate tool to give yourself a full-body workout!

If you don’t have a broom, other similar household items will work perfectly fine for this workout. A mop or even a Swifter Mop will work the same way. If you’re going to use a Swifter, you may way to take out the part with the liquid in it – if it leaks it may make a mess on your floor. 

I love this workout I created that uses a broom for a full-body workout because it helps to challenge the core as well as encourages you to use proper form. Not only will you be getting a full-body workout, you’ll also be helping to improve your posture. There are a variety of ways to tone your arms from home, some of which being using soup cans or bottles of water as weights. As long as an item is within 3 – 8 pounds, it can be used as a great weight. If you don’t want to go to the trouble of finding items to do that with, however, there is another option! 

I’ve been recommending my private weight loss clients approach arm workouts a little differently lately… I’m having them use a wall for their arm workouts! This has many benefits, one of which being how accessible walls are! There are a variety of exercises you can do on walls to help tone your arms, some exercises are more suitable for beginners and some are slightly more elevated and can help you step up your arm workouts. How To Avoid The Working From Home Hunch (As Seen In The Daily Mail)

One of the main ways I’ve been advising my private weight loss clients to avoid the working from home hunch is to change the way that they’re sitting! There are certain positions that make you much more likely to sit with improper posture. While it’s very easy to sit with bad posture, it’s important to sit in positions that you are more likely to use proper posture in. 

Another way to avoid the working from home hunch is to do a series of stretches that promote better posture. Stretching is a great way to get your blood flowing and can even help your body recognize what proper posture feels like. In order to help combat bad posture, I recommend stretching at least once an hour while working remotely. You’ll be surprised how much better your back, neck, and shoulders feel!

Maintaining Mental Health During Quarantine with Gina DeVee (As Seen On IGTV) 

Taking the time to put yourself first and be the best version of yourself is much more easily said than done. Many women may feel like they are selfish for taking time for themselves, which is far from the truth. Gina DeVee, a phenomenal psychotherapist and women’s empowerment coach, joined me to talk about all things self care and empowerment. 

Gina recently published her book ‘The Audacity to Be A Queen’ which is what we focused this chat on IGTV about. This book is fantastic and I can’t recommend it enough! Rope courses may not typically be seen as the workout that they are, but mainly for the fun activities you can do on them. I always tell my private weight loss clients that activities like these are the perfect workout because you have so much fun doing them that you don’t even know how much of a workout you’re getting! 

Completing a rope course challenges you mentally and physically. Your core has to remain engaged in order to offer you stability and your mind has to be engaged to help you overcome obstacles! A Quick At-Home 10-Minute Arm and Posture Workout (As Seen On IGTV) 

One thing I’ve been making sure to do during this period of social distancing is to squeeze in a workout after lunch! Doing this is a fantastic way to get your blood flowing as well as work on your posture.
