The Best Ways To Stay Fit During Quarantine (As Seen In University of Michigan’s Alumni Association)

Some Michigan Alumnus asked me a few questions about staying in shape during quarantine, which was so exciting! The main piece of advice I had for them was to ditch the ‘all or nothing’ mentality that many people get. Just because you indulge yourself a little with a glass of wine in the evening doesn’t mean you need to also eat extra dessert! It also doesn’t mean you need to work out for two hours everyday! A few quick 5 minute workouts are the perfect way to start and motivate yourself. 

Another major misconception is that you have to have a ton of exercise equipment to workout in your home. This couldn’t be further from the truth! Any item in your house that you can lift can be used as exercise equipment. I’ve been recommending my private weight loss clients use items around their home that weigh between 3 and 8 pounds. This may be an old textbook, a broom, or even a gallon of milk. Be creative!
