When you’re at home, you’re constantly surrounded by the food in your kitchen. This can make you much more likely to mindlessly snack and eat while you’re social distancing!
The old saying ‘it’s not what you eat it’s how much’ rings true in this scenario. Portion control is a must! Having pre-portioned out amounts of food is a great idea so you can take the snack with you and not mindlessly eat the whole bag. You can also do this with take out containers to help ensure you’re getting the appropriate amount of vegetables, proteins, and grains.
Another tip that many of my private weight loss clients have been using is to effectively plan out your meals for the week. Planning monthly meals can take too much energy away and leave you feeling overwhelmed – which is why it’s a great idea to plan out your weekly eating. This also makes it very easy for you to take a weekly shopping trip to the grocery store and not over-spend on foods you don’t need or that aren’t good for you.
