Deciding what to pack for lunch can seem daunting. You may not want to eat anything too heavy, but you also may not want to eat anything that has too many calories. As a certified health and fitness expert, I am often asked what I pack for lunch myself!
When my private weight loss clients ask me what I pack for lunch, I always am curious about what other fitness experts eat for lunch. Do they follow similar nutritional plans? This led me to ask 6 other fitness experts what they packed for lunch.
One of the first people I asked was Roxanne Summerville who is an ACSM-certified personal trainer who specializes in fitness nutrition and senior fitness. Roxanne loves incorporating veggies into her lunches and recommends to keep your refrigerator stocked with frozen veggies so you can quickly have a nutritious lunch.
I also asked Ronnie Lubischer CSCS, who owns Lubischer’s Burn and Blast Training. Ronnie made sure to explain that his lunch is usually his pre-workout and that his favorite lunch always includes a lean protein.
Kenny Rosenzweig, NASM-CPT, and co-founder of new high-intensity low-impact training studio Rowgatta also weighed in and shared what he eats for lunch. Kenny notes that his secret for lunches that won’t leave him with low energy levels throughout the day is to stay away from foods that are packed with sugar.
Emily Daly, Charlotte-based CrossFit coach, personal trainer and nutrition coach shared that her go-to lunch is made in an Instant Pot. These pots are amazing for allowing you to quickly prepare delicious and nutritious meals!
Another certified personal trainer and health coach, Katie Austin, shared that she loves having lunches that are big and healthy. She emphasizes how important it is to have a healthy lunch to avoid feeling bloated or dragging for the rest of the day.
Erin Bahadur, a certified personal trainer and author of “Erin’s Inside Job” blog, shared that she also makes sure to prepare lunches that will last her several days. This ensures she doesn’t have to spend 15 – 30 minutes cooking a new lunch every day!
