Workouts for Your 50’s (As Seen on The Doctors)

If you’re in your 50’s, you might struggle with finding exercises that don’t over exert your body but will still make an impact. One fantastic way to do this is to start small and work your way up. This little trick will work for increasing reps when lifting weights as well as yoga poses! 

As a certified personal fitness coach, I always recommend that my clients who are in their 50’s start with a lighter weight and slowly add repetitions in order to avoid injury. Try doing 5 reps today, then work on doing 10 reps the next time you work out. It’s all about progress! 

Another approach for working out in your 50’s is to focus on yoga. Yoga is a fantastic exercise to do because it helps with balance and finding mental clarity. Yoga is also great because you can do it from a variety of places! 

No matter your age, it’s always important to have someone to spot you or a surface to grab onto if you fall. Safety always comes first when you’re working out!
